As promised, operating this new business keeps me busy and I will tell you what I do.
We now know about the 'why' and why it plays a big role. It is very important that any advertising I do is aimed at those people with a big 'why', the bigger the better. Therefore, a lot of my day in these early stages is sifting through the myriads of ad possibilities, both online and offline, free and paid. I will say I have been given suggestions from my mentor, but I still have to do my own research. It's a steep learning curve and mostly trial and error. The very big advantage doing it this way is I build the knowledge to pass on to those folks I refer into this business and become a business associate. I don't want to be led by the hand and I wont lead by the hand.
Keeping an eye on my spend is another thing. I run a serious business and budgeting is part of that. It doesn't take a lot of time but I need to know where my dollars are going, regarding advertising. Now for the next task, it's a critical task too. Learning! As my mentor told me, he came into the business knowing nothing and he was going to learn from the bottom up, although he is very successful in the financial industry. What an awesome attitude and I'm following suit. I watch training videos, read training material, listen into webinars and use the system. A note about learning: It never stops. I go over things to embed them properly and with every day there's always something else to take on-board.
This next task is not business related as such, but is also important. I make sure I get out of my little office and get some fresh air. Walk the dog, grab a cappuccino or just walk by myself on the beach. This is another way of getting exercise!
Tomorrow I will talk about the sort of person it takes to be involved with this business opportunity. It's not for everyone and there are some criteria / attributes a prospective associate will need.
